The live nativity scene, the Mater 2017-2018

At dusk the ancient district of Matera, the famous Sassi, resemble a crib open-air thanks to the particular conformation of the territory and to the numerous lights of the houses on one another clinging. In the wake of this magic that is repeated every day, During the Christmas period the Sassi backdrop to the largest live nativity scene in the world. Numerous appearing from all over Italy will recreate scenes from ancient Jerusalem, approached the city several times in Matera, and the nativity of Jesus.

The nativity scene of Matera organized by "Matera Convetion Bureau” reaches its eighth, the title of the performance of this year “Venite a Me…".

Along a path set in the Sasso Barisano a kilometer and approximately one hour, the set will recreate well set the scene Bible: the Annunciation, the market, the ancient crafts, the sinedio, the visitation, the court of Herod and finally the Nativity. The different location will be set up in five different places, three indoors and two outdoor, in Sasso Barisano. To accompany the scenes set there will be sounds games, lights and frames of the most important film about the life of Jesus filmed in Matera.

The living nativity "Come to Me…” It will take place according to the following sessions:
• since Friday 8 December 2017 see you on Sunday 10 December 2017;
• Saturday 16 December 2017 and Sunday 17 December 2017;
• since Friday 29 December 2017 see you on Sunday 30 December 2017;
• Saturday 06 January 2018 and Sunday 07 January 2018.

Visitors will be accompanied by a member of the organizing committee of the nativity scenes, It also must be booked and respect time indicated on the ticket

Paintings Plastic Avigliano

The parallel events to live Nativity "Come to Me…” It is the representation of the program Paintings Plastic Avigliano, citadel in the province of Potenza, known for living representations of paintings of the great Italian artists of the past. Another important event related to the representation of the nativity scene is the National Nativity Scene Show. The exhibition will include displays of unique pieces of handmade nativity scenes, to represent each Italian Region. The exhibition will be staged in the monumental complex of’Former Hospital San Rocco in Piazza San Giovanni Battista.

The jewel of the exhibition is the fascinating and majestic exposure Nativity Ice Italian artist to care Falasconi.
