The restaurant and pizzeria "The Deck” born in Matera in 1982, the result of a ambitious project created to face the world of tourism even before the Sassi of Matera were recognized as Heritage UNESCO in 1993. The idea was to combine good Basilicata cuisine, thanks to the experience gained over the years, with the charm of the Stones, proposing this particular blend both tourists and same materani. First bet on the potential of the Sassi, defined years before “shame of Italy", was a risky choice but proud that today its founders, since they were witnesses and an integral part of the whole process of rediscovery worldwide Sassi.
